Adult & School Field Trips

Heritage Village hosts field trip groups of all ages. With a rich tapestry of history and culture, Heritage Village offers an immersive experience that transports visitors back in time. Booking a field trip to Heritage Village is a fantastic way to engage students and learners of all ages in a hands-on exploration of the past.

Virtual Field Trips

Heritage Village’s app invites learners near and far to experience our historic buildings and structures online. Individuals, groups, and teachers can explore Heritage Village virtually through our interactive map, photographs and collections tours, and classroom resources.

Archives and Collections

Established in 1961 as part of the Pinellas County Historical Museum, the Archives and Library at Heritage Village has grown into the primary resource center in Pinellas County for collecting, preserving, and studying the region’s history. The library houses a vast collection of over 3,500 volumes covering various topics, including the history of Pinellas County and Florida, genealogy, historic conservation, and preservation. Additionally, it boasts a collection of more than 8,500 photographs depicting Pinellas County. Moreover, our permanent collection showcases over 20,000 artifacts related to the history of Pinellas County, featuring an array of three-dimensional items like furniture, personal belongings, communication devices, recreational objects, decorative pieces, and more. Heritage Village serves as the primary repository for collection items and archival documents associated with Pinellas County history.

Preservation Projects

Heritage Village ensures that our preservation initiatives adhere to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for historic preservation. The museum showcases a strong dedication to protecting local history by preserving 25 historic structures and overseeing an extensive collection of over 17,000 three-dimensional artifacts. Additionally, the museum’s archives and library boast a diverse array of resources, including more than 9,000 photographs, 2,000 slides, 3,500 books, 300 rare books, 2,500 postcards, 400 county directories, and over 240 cubic feet of special collections.
