Turner Bungalow Exhibit Opening
Opening May 7, 2025, the Turner Bungalow permanent exhibit delves into the intriguing history of the Turner family. This exhibit offers a glimpse into the remarkable lives and era of this early pioneer family. Join us as we journey back in time to uncover the rich tapestry of stories and experiences that shaped the Turner family’s legacy on the front steps of the family’s 1915 Craftsman bungalow! The grand exhibition opening is set to begin at 2 p.m. with remarks at 2:15 p.m. at the Turner Bungalow front porch with Lazy Crave Ice Cream and Coffee on site.
The Turner Bungalow has been a part of Heritage Village since 2014 when Geraldine “Jere” Turner bequeathed it. Her parents, Alfred Cleveland Turner and Amber Elizabeth Clark wed on June 2, 1913, in a ceremony in Clearwater. Soon after, they built this bungalow and started their family. They welcomed their first daughter, Amber Vivian, into the world on August 23, 1915, and later, Geraldine on December 14, 1921. Over the next century, the Turner family lived, worked, and grew in this home. Geraldine donated the home and all its contents to Heritage Village, in memory of her mother, father, and sister, and the Turner legacy.
The restoration of the bungalow began in 2021 and was completed by 2023. Extensive work was done by All Trades Historical Restoration to the interior walls, woodwork, front steps, fireplace, chimney, flooring, and foundation. The permanent exhibition inside of the Turner Bungalow is curated with the family’s own artifacts, reflecting their unique personalities and interests. The home is interpreted during the 1940s, a notable decade of growth for the Turner family.
